The EGI OH SEARCH 2.5 is a jig designed for prospecting and targeting active cephalopods. This model is equipped with a rattle system, with components specifically chosen to produce a vibration around 600Hz, which is the most effective frequency to stimulate the interest of squid and cuttlefish. It stands out from other models due to its flat sides, providing more rolling action, and its small protrusion on the back (Strobe Fin), which creates flashing light bursts during the retrieve. These features make it highly visible and audible from a great distance. The EGI OH SEARCH range is equipped with two eyes emitting phosphorescence at a wavelength of 490 nm, corresponding to the most visible light spectrum for cephalopods. This series also incorporates NEON BRIGHT technology, with colors like UV blue, green, or red (the three primary light colors) to offer a wide range of light wavelength variations in the water. Matching the reflection color to the color of the water makes the jig’s reflection more noticeable, boosting the predatory instinct of cephalopods. The UV blue color is best for clear water and high light, UV green is ideal when the water is murky, and UV red is typically the most effective under low light, such as at dawn or dusk. The size 2.5 has a descent speed of approximately 3.6 seconds per meter.
