The R-10 Egg Ring is an egg-shaped split ring that is used in place of the original split ring on hard baits. It is designed for anglers who prefer to tie their lures with a split ring rather than a clip. Its advantage over a round split ring is that the knot is tied at the narrowest point where it will not move. This ensures that the knot remains on a double part and does not slip on the opening of the ring where it could be weakened or caught between the 2 metal strands.
